With ever-tightening clutch specifications and the advanced clutch manufacturing technology required to meet them, today's clutch and disc designs are impossible to rebuild or restore to optimum condition.
That's why all LuK clutches are new - NOT rebuilt. With LuK, you are assured of the durability of a new clutch (instead of a rebuilt unit with 60,000 miles or more on some parts), and of achieving the original performance characyeristics determined by the vehicle's manufacturer.
By receiving Ford's Q1 and Chryler's Pentastar awards, as well as being nominated for General Motors' Mark of Excellence award, you might say that building high-quality clutches is not a goal at LuK - rather, it's their normal way of working.
LuK operates the most highly integrated clutch manufacturing facility in the U.S. They even design and build their production tooling in-house to maintain quality throughout manufacturing.
During the manufacturing process, clutch components and sub-assemblies are inspected at quality assurance stations to detect and resolve potential problems before final assembly. Then, every LuK clutch and disc is 100% tested before it leaves the factory. Clutches are evaluated for lift off, clamp load and fingertip paraelsim, while discs are checked for lateral runout.
As a result, each new Luk RepSet is guaranteed to meet the excat tolerances (measured in hundreths of millimeters) and demanding performance specs determined by the automobile manufacturer. Furthermore, Luk supports their RepSets with an extensive 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.
